"Help me: I don't have Rs. 8 lakh to save my son from his cancerous tumor" | | Hi , | Our lives were shattered when we found out our only child, who is seven years of age now, has cancer. The doctors have said he will be absolutely fine if he gets done with all his chemotherapy rounds. This is what keeps me hanging every single day of my life. Subam was diagnosed with a condition called recurrent metastatic PNET when he was just four years old. He has a large face tumour that can only be cured after 15 rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy for at least 3 months. When the doctors told us about the solution, we were just relieved to find out that there was a way out of cancer. But what came later changed everything for us - the cost of the entire treatment is a staggering Rs. 8 lakh. An amount that I can't even afford to dream of. My name is Sushit Biswas. I used to live many kilometers ahead of Kolkata in a small village with my parents, wife and Subham. Back in my hometown, I used to work in someone's farm and make Rs. 8,000 when the season was good and my father made some money by driving a bus around. That's how we made ends meet. I moved to Mumbai four years back because the medical facilities Subham required weren't available there. I wish I was educated, I haven't found myself a job that can help me continue his treatment. | |
