 Hi, Savitaben's story tears me up every time I hear it. She is 78 years old and lives in Ambher, a small town in Gujarat. All her adult life, she worked as a domestic help and while it was never easy to make ends meet, her small family was just able to get by. A few years ago, Savitaben's husband passed away. She continued to work - sweeping and cleaning houses every day. That was the only way for her to meet basic needs of food and clothing. But now, at 78, she no longer has the strength to keep working. She lives in absolute poverty, praying for a miracle to make it through each day. There are many elderly women like her who need our help to fulfill their need of two simple meals a day. All it takes to fulfill this small desire is less than Rs. 30 a day. Our partner, Gram Vikas Trust will help get them the groceries needed to see them through a month.
